They don't have to be exactly the same hardware but as close as specifically the CPU and GPU.

The in-game settings I'm after are either the lowest possible at 1080p resolution if possible, if that's not available then add some AA to compensate (altough I'm not sure that could work but it was just an idea) or medium-high but no SSAO, high quality shadows, AA or ubersampling.

Game version has to be with the Enhanced edition. If it's 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2, I don't think that's matter.

Now sure why you're after the lowest possible settings. If you set Low and then go and turn everything down further still (which is a notch or two in a couple places) that's as low as you can go... And the game will look really terrible compared to how you could be running it with that setup.

But... your computer can handle it on 1080p with High or Ultra as long as you disable Ubersampling and probably Vsync. You might also need to disable "Cinematic Depth of Field" which is a really expensive process, but you can probably leave it on by default and see if you get an fps drop during cutscenes before you do that.

There's no real reason to wait.

I tried the game just after EE was released and I pretty much ran with medium and still had about 30-40FPS (about 50FPS as best during tutorial) and that's not even in combat. While the graphics I chose is sufficient (I can do fine without AA, SSAO, Uber, Shadows, any blur effect) I need high performance (basically average 60FPS), 1080p resolution and high texture details. Considering the creators tried so hard (evidently) to combine great gameplay and graphics I will wait, I'm patient. :p

The reason for this thread was just to check absolute minimum graphics and see if the performance add is worth it which it isn't.

To improve the framerate your best bet is to lower resolution rather than reduce the other settings. At least with that setup. If you want to see the FPS affect of different settings:

Also this game pretty much doesn't achieve 60fps except on high end hardware. Interestingly the game is generally smooth and playable with anything 24fps and over, as long as you're not having constant framerate changes/jitter.

Yes, I know. I did some testing when the game was released and I tried it once on Gaikai recently. On Gaikai I ran with the default resolution which is 1280x1024 I think and it was very fluid, around 60FPS most of the time.

Unfortunately my gaming days have made me technically bitter and demanding but fortunately patient so when I buy a new computer this will be the first game to play. :)
