Can you reread the actual contract after taking it? I'm unable to find it in the inventory and my quest log doesn't display the actual contract text, which leads to believe that once you take them, you can't read it again.
If you want to read the original Contract text, just load up a save from just before that point. There will be an autosave right after the hanging. Otherwise, you can look at your journal to see what it is you are directed to do for each contract.
