Hey wanted to start the game with my Witcher 1 save. I uninstall the Witcher 1 but keep the save file at the appropriate directory User>me>my doc>The Witcher

When I started the Witcher 2 and go for a new game it said it The Witcher save game not available? Anyone got this problem?

Is that save saved after all the significant events of the Witcher? The only one that showed up for me was mine in the Ice Plains, because that was after all the big events.

A friend of mine moved the saves from D: to C: and it heleped.
Yes, I finished the game. The last save name is called "The order of the flaming rose" (autosave). I think that's after the boss fight and big events.

I installed my games on C: In fact I only have one partition. Looks like a lot of people are having the same problem. Sorry for the duplicate post.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I downloaded one of the save game forum members upload here in one of the save game collection thread and put it in my Witcher save game folder. Luckily his choices were similar to mine so I can use his safe game.
so....only "near-to-end" savegames? I haven't completed the first game yet...guess I'll have to step it up a little :S
It's not like you could customize the character much in TW1. It's only the weapons / skills / spells.

Exactly what happens if you do import the savegame?

You get quite a few bonuses. For example the Raven armor and two swords you used in the last mission of last game i believe and about 300 golds. Other than that, I want to keep the choice I use to further the story line. Not that it's mandatory of course, but if its possible why not right?
for what I've read, it seems the choices you made in the first one do affect the storyline in the import you do. and btw, you do have a good deal of personalization on the first one! you could've upgraded all towards swordfighting, or signs...which is basically the same choice you get here. Anyways, I played only about 5 mins and I already love the joystick support, only it's a little confusing that you have to activate it from within the game instead of using the standalone config tool. Anyways...it seems like I'm gonna keep playing this baby for quite a long time :D
