Just starting out and can't get past point where King throws me the spyglass to help him hit Count **** with the red plume on the wall. No matter how I try to aim the response is 3 degrees and the bolt misses him.

What am I doing wrong - how do you aim to hit him

Well, you don't really need to get him, you'll get a chance to waste the Count later.

Anyway, to get the Count with the ballista aim for the Count with the center of the grid and when the screen flashes slightly hit the space bar.

Not really. If you place the center of the grid on the guy standing on the right (aka NOT the one with the plume), you can reliably hit the Count every time (actually you hit both of them). Easily reproducible, in my playthroughs at least.

Yeah exactly. You have to aim the centre of the telescope on the wood beneath the right dude and it works a charm. Geralt has to say 1.5 for elevation otherwise it's a miss.
