Hello to all,

I've been trying to install TW2 through the crappy GOG installer, I have a folder with all the .bin files and the installer, it checks alright, install until the end when I then get the error
Internal Error: Failed to Expand shell folder constant "userdocs"
I then quit the installer and there is no game...

I have reset the default location and everything for the user folder "My Documents" and still gives me this problem.

I'm thinking on getting this on Torrent.. at least it's much better to install.. sucks that I'll have to keep up with cracks and all.

Could anyone help me please, I would really like to play this damn game if possible.

thanks
This is the error I get...

Please help

Are you sure you are installing the game outside the default Program Files folder?

It's a common InnoSetup error. It's caused because you messed with the location of your My Documents folder. I'm not sure how to recover from it, but it will involve going back to the original state of your My Documents folder, not just moving it back.

Note: "My Documents" only looks like a folder. It's actually part of your user profile.

I've read about it.

So, to play their game I can't have my PC the way I like it? I keep my documents in another HDD than the one Win7 is installed, how badly programmed this installer has to be to cause such a mess?

Well, I've moved it back to the original location, created a "documents" folder under \users\"profile" yet gave the same result. But, as you said, it's not just creating a folder right? It has to be restored to default somehow...

Crappy crappy installer... why did I buy this... regrets..

It's not a crappy installer. It's a perfectly good installer. Every single installer out there assumes that Windows knows where your Documents (or My Documents) folder is.

Nothing wrong with wanting to move your My Documents folder, but Windows provides a proper way to do it that you need to follow.

I will see if I can find the settings to make a GoG installer (they're all Inno Setup installers) do the right thing with a moved My Documents.
I mean no disrespect, neither do I want to start argument fighting... but I change all the "user" folders the "right" way, by specifying a new location. Also, I have never had this problem before when installing anything else, game or not.. so for me it is some cheap programming yes.

Thank you all for the help, if any figure out a way please tell me. For I have already restored "My Documents" to the original location, default name and everything and I still get this error.
I am also getting this error. I have my "my documents" folder redirected to the d: drive where my personal data is.

If anyone can tell me how to get around this issue, I'd be grateful. I'd prefer not to need to reinstall windows to play this fine game.

Cheers
I too am getting this error
I fixed it with a Registry change I found on the Microsoft site
