I was playing some quests in Flotsam by night and decided to watch up to the sky to see the stars... What?! The sky was blue beyond the trees and absolutely no stars!
How come a stunning and realistic graphic engine like this doesn't display a plausible night sky like the one in... Morrowind (2003)?

anyone noticed this as well or its just my configuration?

The sky is blue at night; dark blue. And if you're in a town or city with artificial lights, it usually means you can't see the stars.
Post a screen.
Nights in TW2 are extremely bright. Many think it's simply simulating Geralt's enhanced vision. But I agree, it would be nice to have a pretty starry nightsky in-game.

I didn't mean dark blue sky, but light - daylight sky. Also noticed the same colour in chapter 2 when you arrive to henselt's camp. You see a comet in the ... light blue sky.

Is there a thread here specifically discussing The Wild Hunt? It's a very interesting topic, since I think this is the REAL story behind Witcher 2.

Hey...thank you! :D That could actually explain the bright night. You've just "brighten up" my game experience a bit. ^^

I brought down the gamma to 1,5 just for fun for the second playthrough:P Imagine how many CATs I have consumed:P

But yes, Its a plausible idea about extreme brightness.
...or simply about how they missed / forgot night-looking sky textures?
Please, give us a screenshot of this. It's impossible to say at this point if it a) looks different from how our game displays the night sky, or b) if it's just a matter of a difference of reaction to said night sky. I for one have never reacted to it being too bright, or weird or generally off in any way, so I'm really curious to see what it looks like to you.

I have tried this many times, but I can assure you, that on low and mid graphics there is no such things like stars on sky.
There is no night time sky texture, as far as I can tell. This would be an easy fix to mod.

Alright, I take it back. I was under the impression that the OP was claiming the sky looks exactly the same as night as it does during the day, which I don't think it does. It's true, though, that there's no special skybox with stars, only that it's a darker blue - I never really thought about it until now. :|
I was meaning that at night there's no night sky with stars. Not only in Flotsam but even in open ground environments like chapter 2... Such a pity, IMO starry skies are a must-be in fantasy roleplaying games, they give so much atmosphere.

At this point I'm really curious about the "Geralt night vision" opinion wich was stated above, can anyone from the devs confirm or deny this?
Yeah, same problem here.

I noticed that there are no stars in night sky at the beginning of the second chapter. I never suspected that before that point because the sky is covered with thick walls of trees in Flotsam . I don't know the sky texture will change on next chapters but I want to be clarified that.

Also, I don't agree that this is related to the Witcher's abilities because there is already a night sky with full of stars in TW1.
