I'm in the middle of Chapter 2 and still have a crappy "Witcher's Superb Silver Sword" (17-25)
Is this normal? Where could I get an upgrade?
My steel sword is 33
What side of Chapter 2 are you? Roche or Iorveth?

I'm just about to go to the other side thru fog
That still doesn't tell me whose side are you on. You can cross to the "other side" on both Roche/Iorveth sides of the chapter.

That means you're on the Roche side. That's what I asked in the first place.

Once you go through to the other side, you can find two silver swords.

One is in a crypt north of Vergen, named Fate, and it is the weaker of the two.

The 2nd one is in the tunnels that you'll take to meet Zoltan, who is supposed to bring you the spear used to kill Sabrina. This sword is possibly the strongest in chapter 2, and it is named Blood Sword.

Thanks!
I didn't understand about the side - you mean from the end of Chapter 1, now I get it!
What about my level - is it about right? My level is 20 and my swords are around 30 and my armor is 23?

Damn I didn't know how I could have missed that Blood Sword.

Fate is pretty weak IMO. Even the crafted superb meteorite swords are better. I might have been mistaken though.

The tunnels are pretty complex. The Blood Sword is protected by a Bullvore and some Rotfiends, if I recall correctly.

My slight completionist OCD made me completely explore the tunnels, and I even found the locked door that the key on the dead dwarf opens. Behind that door is a chest with a pair of mediocre pants. Disappointing.
