...To put any skill points on any alchemy tree branch, instead of investing on the other two (magic and swordsmanship)?

If you are that type who gathers all the herbs and useful monster organs to the limit, and you have in fact unlimited resource of potions; how can it be that it will be easier with +15% (or such) potion effectiveness?

Mutagens are too many contrary to how many slots can you gather in a single playthrough(4-5).

I've only this to say.

Taken from this thread, for the record.

EDIT: 'Tis a most spoilertastic video linked to, my good fellows, so take care in the clicking of thy mouse.

Why, did you offend anyone? ;)

But you know what works nicely? Marking a question as a question when opening a topic and then marking the solution, so people know it has been ansered and don't come running anymore, trying to help. ;)
yes. alchemy is the strongest tress in the witcher, just like the link 227 shared proves.

It wasnt really a question, instead a start of a topic:) But because the first answer proved to be more than enough, it should be marked as a question thread now:)
Even a Pure Alchemist is powerful. I loved my run with it.
I enjoy the alchemy tree very much. Don't worry about potion duration so much as looking at the 100% bomb dmg increase. The gather talent with the herbalist gloves keeps a steady flow of bombs in my bags and I use them LIBERALLY. I blow everything to hell! Grape shots, Dancing Stars, Zerekkranian Suns, even Flares (more like ping pong balls...) Tossing some grapeshots at an enemy as it approaches usually leads to your sword never needing to be swung. Constantly having 4 potion effects up is very nice, longer duration on Places of Power buffs as well. I don't go deep enough for the adrenaline stuff though, I start to branch out into the sword tree. (I try to get 200% dodge distance early on as well as it is truly a life saver.

Yeah there really should have been a spoiler warning on that video. Fortunately I've finished the game already but I could imagine someone who hasn't finished yet might visit this thread to see if they should try out alchemy, and then there's a huge ending spoiler in the second post.

No offense, but any first-time player who doesn't immediately exit out of a video with "Every Ch3 boss" in the title kind of has it coming. Clearly there would be spoilers for those who hadn't yet reached that point.

True, but an additional spoiler warning wouldn't hurt. Especially since the video automatically starts when you click the link.
