So, I'd like to get the Witcher 2, but I started collecting a bit late. See, I'll only be able to get the last stamp on the 25th. If stamps are given everyday "until the 25th", does it mean this is a futile effort on my part?

I'm not sure, but I'd like to say that if you start it before it ends you should at least be able to finish it. Then again I've finished mine for 3 days now and no code yet.

The aim was to get people to come to their site every day. Then the idea is they would be more likely to buy stuff. Well it works on most people. But yeah, yer stuck and won't be able to finish.

But I'd keep collecting them for another reason. Sometimes GOG does some cool stuff. A good example maybe lowering the price depending on how many stamps late comers gathered.

So you may have missed the freebie, but sometimes they pick up the stragglers with a really good price. So I wouldn't stop.
