Hi good people of GOG,

I recently fresh installed Windows 8.1 and it seems it has compatibility problem with The Witcher (Steam Version), I got no sound at all in the entire game (cut scenes, etc) and the sound section in option section is completely grayed out.

I tried:

1. re-installing game
2. verifying cache
3. enabling disabling Nvidia sound entries in the device manager
4. compatibility mode
5. updating sound card drivers

My MB is Asus MAXIMUS VI HERO and the sound card is Realtek ALC 1150.

any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated :)

Try installing the newest drivers from Realtek.
