underwhelmed: Bonus issue: The Xbox one controller does not seem to work correctly with this game when played on Windows 10.

JMich: Triggers also rotate the camera? Either unplug the receiver, start the game, plug the receiver or edit the configuration file to remove the "Other Gamepad" section. Tell me if you want me to dig up the post about the configuration file.
This is the madly spinning to the left bug. I've seen it in a few other games. Is this a fix for just this game or is this something that will work elsewhere?

No idea if it will work elsewhere. I did have the issue that the triggers would rotate the camera, and the fix I found online was to unplug the receiver. Someone here posted that it most likely happens because it treats the gamepad as both an X-Input and a DirectInput one, thus the conflicting signals and the solution.
According to this post, GOG should hopefully have a fix for the CPU bug sometime next week.

That is outstanding news, and not something I expected to happen given the nature of the issue.
Hey, hey... so is there a fix for that coming?
Several months later I suppose.. I just bought the game on sale and I'm on an 8 core processor with the same issue. Has this been forgotten or is it being worked on?
Just bought this as well, but it doesn't work on my i7. I've loved everything CD Projekt Red has done before so I won't fault them for this one issue, but I will get a refund if this isn't resolved in a few weeks.

Until there is a solution, buyers beware: If you have a mutli-core processor the game might not work for you.
I had a support ticket out for this game but they said a fix is not likely on the horizon. As the core issue is deeply rooted in the game. I had to refund.
Have the game on Origin, too. There's no problem to start the game with a 8 core processor. Ok, I think, I will ask for a refund on GOG.

So the Origin copy works on an 8 core cpu?

Yes, using an i7-6300 CPU @ 3.40 GHz. No problems.

The 6300 is a quad core i5. I'm guessing you mean the 6700, which is still a quad core.
Quad cores work with this game no problem.

Unless you mean possibly the 6800k? That's a six core one and that would be an example of the game working on a problem processor.

Sorry, yes, i meant i7-6700. My fault. The Origin-Version runs without any problem and the GOG-Version does not start. After a black screen it shuts down. Have both and thinking a while for a refund.

Legend jackfuste from WSGF (wsgf.org/) has provided a fix that works for systems running more than 4 cores!

I can now play The Saboteur on my AMD Ryzen 1700x 8 Core CPU!

Here's the fix:

Saboteur_CPU_FIX.zip (mega.nz/#!pBtWWb7a!Zu0GKwOaw92vZdIKNVed-rzL9Dv1vQnwVLkDq8mFuFw
) - small patcher for Saboteur.exe
Saboteur_Fix.7z (mega.nz/#!gA1mBZLR!qr7lUxuaNJr_-Ietgw9ARxZ_4j7_TRUp6UFdaNcf95M) - already patched Saboteur.exe

Thank goodness jackfuste is with us today! He's an absolute legend!

Can anyone confirm this does work and is not some kind of virus?
