I’m having problems with the pottery minigame. As soon as the game starts, the mouse cursor is forced into the bottom-right corner of the screen. The cursor can be moved freely in the bottom black bar, below the content area of the screen. Any attempt to move the cursor into the content area once again results in the cursor being forced into the bottom-right corner.

This is on OS X 10.12.6, playing with a mouse.

Oish... I came to the forums to give the developers a heads up about exactly this same issue and see with dismay that your post, completely devoid of any responses, dates back to almost one year !
Well... this sucks grossly.

I'm sorry I have no solutions to offer except joining in the lamentations.

For the record, in case the devs show up here somehow (which, now that I see how 3 similar questions are still unresolved, seems extremely unlikely), my computer is an iMac (late 2012) with the following specs:

OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB

The version of the game I'm playing is the latest GOG release at the time of typing: 20180122 (1.0.7)

:(
To solve the issue with the mouse in the bottom-right corner in the pottery minigame on a Mac:

In short, there reason for this issue seems to be the games access permission to the Mac OS controls. It's a security precaution from the OS. The game/developers seem to use it the wrong way. So the access has to be deactivated. I did not see any side effects and do not know why the game needs control access anyway...

Here is what to do:

Open the MacOS System Preferences (Apple menu -> System Preferences). Then select "Security and Privacy", click on the "Privacy" tab and remove the checkbox for the "There Red String Club" app/game.

Cool. Thanks. I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

Hey a_life_hacker:
I followed your advice (that seemed so promising) but it was a no go.
I re-installed the game today to test your idea. I checked and the bug is as healthy as ever, so I opened The Security & Privacy area of the System Preferences, and clicked the tab you mention, BUT, there was no The Red Strings Club game there, as your screenshot suggests.
There were a couple of other apps present, but not the game, so nothing's changed, the mini-game is still cursed with that game-braking bug ergo TRSC is unplayable.
It was a good moment of hope what you gave me, though, so at least I thank you for that.
CHeers mate!

Hum, I appear to have the same problem with this minigame.
Since I use a graphic tablet instead of a mouse, I do not know if my comment will be of any help. However, here's what I experienced : the cursor was forced to the bottom right corner only when the pottery wasn't turning fast (when the indicator under the pottery is white), so when it was, I had a - not perfect but - better control on the cursor. It was still treaky, so I ended up clicking repetitively while sculpting. Not convinient nore normal behavior I guess, but I got to finish the mini game, which is not that long, and finish the game after that.
Don't give up on the game ! It is a masterpiece in story telling and choice making, and, not an easy, but deep dive into the human/technology perception.
Hoping you still got to enjoy the game !

Hello Garymarance:
I have a graphic tablet too, so I will give it a new go following your advice and see if I can manage to power through the mini-game that way.
Thanks for the idea and will return to tell if it worked. Even if it doesn't thanks for the new hope.
:)
