It is not officially supported, and it might mean you're under the minimum requirement but some players didn't have any problems running it on Win7 or Win 8.1
I can only encourage you to try it, give us a feedback here (and get a refund if it's failing)

The other thing to consider with an in development game is that even if it works now it might not later (this could potentially happen with released games as well, but you could at least save a release version that works in that case).
