yes it looks bloody good, can wait
New update posted, and complete overhaul of the website - http://chaoticfusion.com/

Release date is now listed as February '18. Also, the scope of the game has changed:

The Poisoned Pawn is the official sequel / successor to Tesla Effect.
The Poisoned Pawn is Act 1 of the final chapter in the Tex Murphy Adventure series.

More info can be found here - http://chaoticfusion.com/new-website-new-update-new-unity-version/
This is incredible!

I must admit I'm very intrigued, the new website looks amazing, and the fact the that game is now a sequel to Tesla Effect makes all of it so much more interesting.

Looking forward to the release date.

Great work!
work continues!

<<<<<>>>>>

Last weekend we successfully shot a massive portion of the new FMV content for The Poisoned Pawn. The footage was captured in glorious 10bit 4K and ended up looking phenomenal when we brought it into the edit suite. The Chaotic Fusion team are still hard at work on the game, so we will continue to focus more on building content rather than preparing comprehensive updates (which take time). Rest assured; we aim to deliver a big update some time in the near future. In the meantime, enjoy these shots captured directly from the video footage we shot.

Note: The final FMV will *not* be in Black and White. We simply chose to release these images in that format to showcase the fidelity, lighting and film noir style of the content.

I came here wondering if there would be a Tesla Effect follow-up. I'm playing UAKM right now, and plan to play Pandora Directive next. I had no idea Poisoned Pawn was even a thing! This has really made my day!

You realize of course that the original post was made nearly a year (june 19, 2018) before your repost here (May 30, 2019), I hope...;) I seem to be getting less optimistic as time rolls on...
I tend to agree with the last post. This thread started 4 years ago. Also, this project started out trying to get Overseer to work on modern OS, making the graphics and FMW better. And then it grew and grew, into a completely new game, with VR and what not. Maybe its getting to big? I think most fans would have been quite content with a working version of the original Overseer (you now, without the need for a computer science degree to get it to work :-) ), and I for one would gladly have paid for it. I am not even sure, that once it is released, my pc would be able to support the game.

Quick update from Big Finish that PP is still being actively developed (via their facebook page):

We wanted to pass on a message from a member of the Poisoned Pawn development team, which will hopefully provide greater insight into the current state of the project...

“Hi folks, we wanted to add that the development team behind the Poisoned Pawn is grateful for everybody’s patience. You truly are the best community!

As was mentioned before, the team behind the Poisoned Pawn is made up of only 4 developers. These developers have not been commissioned by Big Finish Games to develop the title and are doing so on their own. Big Finish has generously offered some resources and assistance along the way which has been a fantastic boost to the project. But think of us as passionate fans who are donating their own resources to develop the game. But they also need to juggle full-time jobs, take care of personal responsibilities, as well as the numerous social challenges everybody faces (such as the recent Pandemic). In fact, one of our team members was involved in a serious accident that caused a lot of stress and they have been doing an excellent job of getting back on their feet to help see this project through.

We do our best to remain passionate about our work throughout its development. But unfortunately, we are also sometimes the target of harassment by community members. Some of us have received targeted harassment and threats before. I think there was one such recent case here on this page. But I believe that person’s comments were removed for violating the Facebook community terms of service for bullying and harassment.

In cases like this, especially when you are donating your time to deliver something to fans out of passion, it can sometimes be hard to remain motivated to maintain a strong community presence when you are occasionally being targeted maliciously by community members. Therefore, some of the developers have adopted a more distanced approach from frequent community updates. This is so they may focus on the game and not have to experience some of the disheartening harassment. We understand it is perfectly fine for members to express concern or disappointment about a lack of updates, and we appreciate all of the constructive feedback. But it's another thing entirely to harass or curse at people.

That said, we are still passionate about this project in spite of all this and want to let everybody know that the title is still in development at this stage, and we hope to have an update with some media and content soon. Thank you for understanding!”

Remember folks, we are all in this together. We're all fans of something wonderful, and truly believe we have one the best community and supporters in the gaming world. Let's continue to be civil to each other, and especially to those who are helping to keep the dream alive! Thank you!

Thought I'd post another quick update from the Big Finish Games facebook page that I perused today (link here), comment from PP Dev @ChronoWolf when asked about PP status:

One of the devs was involved in a serious accident. The other was experiencing challenging situations regarding COVID-19. This, combined with the occasional confrontational and aggressive comments by folks asking about the game, became difficult to manage. So a decision was made to just focus on the work.
