I've been in a pathfinder pen and paper group for a while now, and i cant keep straight which rules are pathfinder and 3.5 in TOEE, which has led to a few reloads. I was wondering if there is an existing mod for TOEE that makes it abide by the pathfinder ruleset, and if not, how difficult would it be to do it myself?

Definitely a question to search for an answer and perhaps pose at the Circle of Eight forum. They are the Mod makers for this game, we're just the players here at GoG.

Just picked up the Pathfinder Beginner set to introduce the d20 world to my children. Maybe I'll get to take the multiple boxes of AD&D stuff out of the attic someday...
checked on that circle of eight thing you mentioned, and i am not the first to ask that question. The general answer is that the rules on that level can't be modded

Is there really that much different between 3.5 and Pathfinder in the system itself? It's basically just different base classes and then minor changes to concentration (well, nerfing the crap out of concentration...) and tactical maneuvers, yeah?
the combat maneuver bonus/defense were significant changes, but mostly for me, its about the level 0 spells, cleric/druid domains, and magic item crafting. in PF, you can cast lvl 0 spells an unlimited amount of times per day, and magic item creation has no XP cost, where in 3.5, it costs xp. In 3.5, druids couldn't choose a domain of fire, water, earth, or air, and were forced to have animal companions ( which also function slightly different), and cleric domains in PF include a basic spell castable 3+wis modifier number of times per day.

In my tabletop PF campaign right now, i have a druid of the fire domain and no animal companion, with a number of item creation feats, thus the 3.5/PF differences hit me several times.

Personally, I thought the weapon crafting in ToEE was too powerful even with the XP hit. In most of the cRPG adventures I've had, I usually ignore weapon crafting as 1) too time consuming and 2) too advantageous. If I get lucky with a boss drop or chest of loot, so be it. If not, time to get clever or grind.

On a different note, taking another crack at ToEE this month. For the first time I'm using a glaive with my tank for the extra reach. It's as bad a cheat as weapon crafting!
