I am considering getting the game (and DLCs) during the current sale, however I read some disconcerting reviews from last year about broken savegames.
Can anyone confirm that they are okay now?

The save working for me since the first version of the game. Never started a new one and over time applied both DLCs without any issues considering the save file. There is automatic back up created times to times and honestly I had to rely on that several times but interestingly never lost progression.

In truth I read all of your reviews so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect (probably not the perfect game, eh)

I'm a pretty big Akella fan (Sea Dogs, Pirates of the Caribbean, Age of Pirates), so I bought the game and its 3 DLCs.
I feel that, like those games too, this one will have its bugs but I am hoping that it will have a charm that will make me remember it fondly in the future as well.

Definitely has its bugs but nothing that corrupt the saves. I guess it do something with the clouds as it happen mostly with Steam and Galaxy.

Anyway yes, everyone like the life of pirates. The food and supply thing from Age of Pirates and the other games was never my favorite but Tempest is much more an arcade game than those. It is fairly easy and fast to sink other ships even if you have smaller vessel but otherwise it is a similar experience.

By the way sadly there isn't much support behind the game. I still hope they give us LAN option lol.
