... or will it be only dependant on purchasing the new version?
Perhaps the two will have different release dates... (Hopefully SS2 EE will come first and soon). I can't see any input about the enhanced edition.

I'm sure you will be able to buy the Enhanced Edition withouth the Remake once both are released. Getting SS2 Enhanced Edition for free when you buy pre-order the remake is just Nightdive offering you a nice free bonus.

That being said one thing will probably happen on release and that is that the SS2 Enhanced Edition will replace the original SS2 version that is currently available for sale. The original will then be part of the SS2 Enhanced Edition Goodies like it has already been the case with other games that where updated by Nightdive.
