as you are probably aware, today's Shock2 release and the resulting traffic almost brought systemshock.org down. it's a small site, but its importance (Shock-wise) is tremendous - it shelters 90% of System Shock2 mods, FAQs, workarounds etc. it's operated by just one guy - the very same person who has brought us the ss2tool. and let's be honest, without the tool, today's release would not be so nice and smooth - it's not too far fetched to say that everything we presently use stands on the tool's shoulders.

so, while I have a rather strict policy of only attending to the technical tasks, I'll make an exception just this time, and ask for donations - if you've downloaded or used something from there, and liked it, or just want to keep the SS2 modding scene going, or any other reason you might have, consider donating a buck or two.

the button is in the upper right corner.

cheers.

He can have a donation when I can actually use the site, All it says is Login and paaword required to view content. so i'm not allowed to download any mods and I cant just sign up either. very annoying

It is overloaded. Probably more hits in the past day than it normally gets in a year.
Donated $5.
Back when I set up System Shock 2 for the first time on my Win 7 system, I could not have done without the help of that forum, so I sent Kolya a donation. I think now is the time the site could really use some more donations.

correct. there is a failsafe that activates the emergency mode when the guest number is too high. just wait a bit, and you should be able to browse/download/donate/whatever. while a little uncomfortable, it's better than crashing the entire site.

some quick optimizations were done this night so the site should be handling the guest traffic better now.

Also, if you went on the site yesterday (when it was "under upgrade") -- it may help to clear all the related cookies.
Good job, voodoo47 and community magicians as well. Kolya deserves this money more than hordes of overrated "indie" devs. Also: thank you for the FAQ.
Donation sent.
