Pretty straightforward question, just having trouble getting the game to work with the Steam overlay. Granted the game seems best played in isolation, but when I do have chats going I'd rather not have to alt+tab out every few minutes.

I've added it to Steam as a Non-Steam Game, as per usual. Steam launches the game fine, and I properly appear as in-game to everyone else, the in-game overlay just simply isn't present.

Searching for a solution on my own only turned up people talking about how it does work for them, so it seems something's amiss on my end? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Steam overlay wont work with anything that is forced to launch with administration rights.

There is your answer. Its not the games fault. Its Steam's fault.

Well thanks, that worked! Turned off Run as Admin and now it's working.

Wasn't really wondering where to place the blame, but...thanks?

^ This thread explains that Shock2.exe needs to be set not to 'run as administrator' as well, not just start.exe... in case anybody didn't think to look at Shock2.exe like me :-P
