Is there any way to get the cutscenes to work in this release or are they still unviewable.

It seems they still don't work (at least so far) so I was mostly just wondering if theres an option or config file that would fix it.
repatch with ss2tool: http://www.gog.com/forum/system_shock_2/system_shock2_faq_patches_mods_recommendations

I don't know much about the game but if by cutscenes you mean the pre-rendered videos, they seem to be working just fine for me. At least the Intro, shuttle, etc. do.
The cutscenes work fine for me.
The cutscenes work fine for me in the default resolution. They don't come up at 1680x1050x32 (for me). Other resolutions or aspect ratios may work.

EDIT: Patching with sstool made them work in all resolutions.

Repatching with sstool fixed it. Thanks for the quick replies, guys!
I repatched but still get no cinematics... Should I not have started the game at all before repatching?

Or is perhaps the patcher not able to download all that's necessary? I got no errors though, only success reports.

there is a rare bug when the ffdshow player fails due to external reasons. you are probably the first lucky winner.

post your shock2.log.

Ah congrats probably the first bug on the forum!
this looks like it could help: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140222&p=2151230&viewfull=1#post2151230
Pasted Shock2.log here

http://pastebin.com/KXHjz0mi

I first deleted it then started a new game, went to year 1 and caused it to crash by those keys I said. No videos played to that point.

I've got an ffdshow install, needed it for some other game recently, would that cause this? Conflict with some in engine decoder/player?

can't download from work (stupid blocking), so either paste the text here directly or it will have to wait until I get back.

I don't quite understand, now you have some crashes as well?

also, try using the dll from ttlg I've linked.
I had crashes from before, when pressing the teleport nav removal key, which I set to shift+z. Unrelated to the videos, just saying. The log file is pretty big to paste here so I guess I'll wait for when you can check it. Trying dll now...
