I just bought this game for mac out of nostalgia and after downloading for mac it won't run. When running it just quickly opens and then closes. I'm running the latest MacOS Catalina 10.15.2. Any tips on getting this game working so I can return to the 90's and relive my youth?

Catalina no longer supports 32-bit.

The Mac versions of GOG's DOS games (which include Syndicate) use Boxer as an emulator, but Boxer will no longer run on Catalina because Boxer has some 32-bit elements.

GOG is slowly updating their Boxer games to run on DOSBox instead (because the recent DOSBox is compatible with Catalina), but it seems they have not got to Syndicate yet.

In the meantime, you can download DOSBox yourself (https://www.dosbox.com/) and use it to play the game. However, you will need to locate the actual game files from within the downloaded game app from GOG, I'm pretty sure you can't just drag the entire game app into DOSBox.

To find the game files (for Syndicate Plus), right-click on the game app and select "Show Package Contents" then navigate to: Contents > Resources > game > Syndicate Plus "Show Package Contents" > Contents > Resources > Syndicate Plus.boxer "Show Package Contents" > C.harddisk
Thanks 01kipper. that worked a treat.
