Hello, my old laptop broke down a couple of months ago and I got a new one by now. I can still access the old hard drive, so I wonder where the savegames regarding the found messages are stored? I don't need to retrieve any old character but I would like to not have to re-find those messages.

Ususally they are located in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Sword of the Stars - The Pit

Let me know if that helped :)

Is there an alternate location? I run Windows XP on that laptop and there seems to be no SOTS savegames stored in users.

Hmmmm, have you tried poking around in My Documents? Sorry, I run Windows 7 on this rig and I haven't really dealt with Windows XP in a long time.

Would you happen to know how the file that stores the gained messages is called exactly, than I could just search that?

Typing %appdata% as the address should also take you to the AppData\Roaming folder. I think in XP it's "Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data", though it is a hidden folder. %appdata% should be faster though.
