I didn't activate the console or any of the other extra features of the patch, can't help you there, sorry. But increasing the resolution to 1280x1024 from the previous maximum of 1024x786 worked fine for me. The menu screens are still in 1024x768 and displayed in the top left corner, but that's okay.

Ctrl -Alt -Del, then select Task Manager, however you'll be at a screwed up resolution.

Silverhawk170485: It doesn't seem to work with the german version. When I want to start the game it sais "Incorrect version".

timeslip: It depends on a specific version of the exe, so if the german version uses a different exe, it wont work. :/ It probably wouldn't be too hard to convert though; I can dig out the source code for the patch if anyone wants to make alternate versions of it.
Have you talked to GOG about officially including this patch? I don't think Nordic would necessarily object.

Bleargh, I've tried it and my mouse doesn't let me move around. I think I ended up having to log out of my user.

I thought about trying two screens and letting the limitations of a game that doesn't recognize them take over.
Has anyone succesfully tinkered with the "BoostMouseOverRange" and "BoostInteractionRange" settings in dinput.ini? I can't make out any changes within the game, no matter what values i input there. The default distance to make objects/persons/enemies clickable seems a bit short for me.
I found a solution to my blinking icon issue, setting the desktop bar (windows 7) to auto-hide.
Has anyone found anything useful with the console? I see there's quite a few options to change the fog which would be ideal because it's way too close even on high.

Also, regarding the camera, is it possible to change the angle so it becomes more isometric and less zoomed-out third person?

Thank you for posting a fix. ^_^

If this problem is wide spread it should be re-posted with detailed instructions and a sticky applied. ;)

If you think a "sticky" is ever in order, you can message Judas about it.
I just purchased Summoner and I found my way to this thread. This answers my question of whether or not there is an unofficial patch for Summoner.

Aside from this patch are there any other mods for Summoner?
I tried the patch with a widescreen resolution (1280x720): the main menu and in-game menus appear on the left side of the screen, and seem to be cropped on bottom, even though the game itself is still playable. Is this a normal behavior or am I doing some mistake?

Moreover, I noted that the patch allows you to display framerate and increase/decrease game's speed: well, none of these functions work on my system (I hope I am using the right keys, namely F, [ and ]).

Lastly, I haven't found any way to enter game's console.

The menu thing is normal but gets annoying after awhile so I stopped using the widescreen hack. As for the console:

Go into the dinput config and at the bottom will be a section to set which key is console. I use 3 which is Shift. In game it does not open a console but rather works in junction with whatever keys you have labelled in the section below where you set your console key.

For example: The default key for adding 1000 gold he has set is Tab. I just hold shift and hit tab in game and, voila, 1000 gold. shift+f gets me my framerate.

I have had no reason to try the slow/speed function so I cannot help you there. Maybe they work the same as above. Who knows? :)

Edit: Oh. The proper labelling for keys that you can input in that last section is the ASCII number of that key with the proper number of 0's before it to make it a 3 digit number.

I understand perfectly. There is another way to get a widescreen resolution: using nGlide wrapper you can run the game emulating a 3Dfx card but with high resolution modes. However, this solution has serious performances effects on my (slow) system, and it isn't so appealing aesthetically, because the graphics appears as simply horizontally stretched.

That said, thank you very much for your help with all my questions.
