It seems that the game is censored here in germany.
The option for censoring it isnt clickable in the menue, which leads to blurrs and pixelation.

The developer offers an "Adult Only DLC" on their website http://madmind-studio.com/ .
On Steam apparently this DLC is available in the normal way, whereas here on GoG it is not. No idea why.
No idea whether the DLC from the developer's site will work with the GoG version, either. But it's there.

Just look at china, which is a true total total surveillance state with mallicious behaviour against its own people and especially foreigners. Yet it gets praises from so many western politicians.

The restrictions in germany are strange and nobody knows what can pass and what not. Games with harsh brutal contant, like Mortal Kombat, getting through, this was censored.

Im guessing that the devs did it as preventive meassures to avoid restrictions of the game in multiple countries.
But it should be stated at the product website, that it is a censored version.
It is kinda strange, that the storepage header picture shows more than you will be able to see in the game X D

Not sure if you are aware, But China isn't feared because of it being a "total surveillance state with malicious behavior against its own people" it's feared because of its size. Its praised by the west simply because of its slave labor and monopoly of minerals and other production crap.

Germany's censorship is based on the fantasy idea of Nazism returning because of certain content. Kind of a paranoid by the elite for not understand how people actually work and that right now the group doing the most violence actually want all media banned and barely consumes media like this.

But it is obvious it is hard to blame devs for a censored game when your own country is the cause of this. Your review wasn't really grounded if you take that into account. And seeing as the devs made it possible on their site it is hardly a reason to write something like that.

To my Knowledge, this isnt really censored by the goverment in an classical manner - as an adult you are allowed to buy and own the uncensored version (if its not forbidden, which is very rare). Its more self-censorship in this case.

The problem is, the game may not get age approval by the "BPjM". The game may also get "indexed". Both of which is very bad for sales. If you want to know more about this:

It is however NOT forbidden to buy or own indexed Games, and of cause you are allowed 18+ content. As an adult.

I dont think it is possible for GOG to sell a indexed games at all, and GOG does not have an suitable age verification system. Therefore, they only offere the censored version in germany.

For us adult players, this sucks, because you will never be able to buy the uncensored versions at gog.
But the BPjM is getting better. 20-30 years ago, a lot more games were indexed then today. Even games like Doom.

Some (most?) physical game stores sell indexed games to adults, but you have to ask, since advertising is forbidden.

Actually "Censorship, of the first game, was in order to get it on Steam originally.
Valve didn't allow "Adult" Rated games, and so the game was censored to get a mature rating.
This is also why the Uncensored DLC was described as "Unrated", and until the Steam rule change, only available from the devs site.
I expect they have gone down this route again, more due to countries like Germany, but never the less, it gives it a Mature rating again While it's good the devs provide that content, but an upload speed of just 25kB per second, and constant failures, is the reality.

For example even though my browser has the ability to resume failed downloads, I'm now only halfway in my second attempt to download a mere 75MB archive, after over 3 hours for what should be a three second download.

My free mega link of the GOG file, above is much quicker, and far more reliable method than the devs paltry effort.
So while I'd give them credit for the attempt, the implementation is a clear Fail.

I tend to believe the goresex stuff is cencored for germany.

Also yes, in this case here, it might be because of the unrated game.
Why it is pixelated. Not because of the sex and nudity per se.

But let's just say that Germany's "wir schaffen das!" made Germany a hellhole that dragged the rest of Europe with them. I'm fully aware of the whole ordeal, with the Agony. Steam started backpedaling again after acquired the developer, Campo Santo. Steam curation is like it's run by the German government right now, Which means nobody knows what is or isn't allowed anymore, so we all stuck with the German model of censorship nowadays on steam.


My internet connection is pretty good, but it might be a regional thing. Also, don't forget it's a very small dev, so you can't expect high-end service. I think people these days just expect too much from even smaller devs like this.

It's not about your speed, my download speed is high @ 200 Megabits/s (25 MB/s), the limit is caused by the devs upload speed limit. Which is about 25 kB/s.
I could download 75 GB of data from dedicated hosts, much quicker than the 75 MB from the devs site.

As both GOG, and Steam do provide the unrated DLC which is just a single PAK file.

The users still needing it, direct from the devs, will be rather low (Germans, etc,), and a free Mega.nz account gives 15GB of storage.
Even the stingier 2GB of free hosting, of Google Drive, Dropbox and …more, would be more than enough.

I'm happy to have the 1st Amendment in the US so I don't have to deal with this crap.
