from how Steam has gotten a couple of patches so far but GOG has yet to see one, kinda seems like this version is just a toss out and isn't going to be supported.

I really hope that this isn't the case, and maybe it isn't since they did take the time to put out a GOG version, but it is kinda clear that Steam is the priority.
Should I poke them via email again?

They were going for a Steam release, and the GOG release was added later, since people ( including me ) wanted a DRM-free version.

In one of the updates on the Kickstarter page, they say that everyone who wants the game on GOG, will have to wait longer for the extras than the people who want it on Steam, and I guess this also includes patches.

Hi,

I'm one of the devs for SSZ. Apologies for neglecting you guys somewhat (ok, completely), I promise to check in here often!

Hello Snedge,

Happy that someone from the dev-team comes here to :)

I would like to start by asking, if you can give a timetable about when the extra content will be available here for us on GOG.

I pre-ordered the "Strike Commender" tier via Paypal, so when can we expect the extra digital content (Marauder-suit/digital-artbook/digital-soundtrack/etc.) here on GOG, and when can I expect my t-shirt and physical artbook?

A rough estimate would be nice.

Thanks in advance, enjoying the game so far.

Edit:

And how will my life-time subscription for SSZ work?

Will the future content be supplied directly from your side, or via GOG?

Steam succeded in making many 'independants' being its employees..

Hopefully they won’t forget about the gog crowd. As long as they support DRM free, I’ll be willing to fork over the $$, but on services like STEAM.. I’ve already got enough money tied up in one-time subscriptions that I’ll pass on anything exclusively sold over those services.

On a side note, been having a blast playing SSZ!

They've been slow. They've been pushing out "insignificant" updates to Steam and not doing so for GOG because of certain manual processes. Neither did they announce their screenshot competition here, nor their accepting modding tool beta testers. Sometimes I wonder if they give a crap about us, since there are certainly a lot more people over at Steam than here, and they go where the money is.

Well, I’d expect them to go where the money is, that’s how it works, unfortunately, that’s most likely over on STEAM. Probably the whole “let’s making PC gaming as close to console gaming as possible” movement has a little to do with that.

But, as I said, if they support the DRM-free crowd too, I’ll make sure to support them by buying what they’re selling, so far, it’s been pretty good.. a little on the short side, but good. Flying around in the previous missions with an end-game weapon, that’s been a blast.

Not sure what the manual process is.. this isn’t enterprise software APARs, PTFs, EHP, SPS’ and the like, this is patching a game the way it’s been done at least a decade.. but as long as they support the game here, in a somewhat timely fashion, I’m not going to complain (much). =p

I'd suppose the manual process involves packing up stuff, putting it on to a server, and sending emails. I don't know what the process on Steam is like, but I doubt the update gets personal attention from Valve's side unless something goes horribly wrong.

BTW, they skipped Patch #1 for some reason, and instead gave us Patch #2, about a week (I think) after the Steam update.
