I was wondering if there was extra content or higher resolution graphics or something in the GOG version as opposed to the retail CD version of Still Life since the original fitted on two CD's and the GOG version is over 3 GB in size.

I didn't find anything different. Maybe a different compression was used to compress the installer.

The GOG version contains several languages, the retail CD version was in one language only.

It would be damned nice, if the different languages were a seperate downloads on GOG. It's a bit annoying to dl huge files just to get languages you don't want.

The gamecard says the only language is English. I haven't checked it yet myself, but if that's the case, it's kinda strange GOG did not list other languages.

I know the gamecard says so, but I've bought it and can assure you, there are more than one language to choose:
