I've been having some serious issues with building certain facilities, so far only the lab and brig. It seems like if I build them over a certain dimension the game freezes and I have to kill the application.

Win 7 64, i7 3.6, 16GB ram, Nvidia 570 GTX.
I am up to misstion 5, and I can not seem to do anything with the plants on the biodeak, even tho its telling me I am supost to be able to.

I have re-started the mission a few times, and still have the problom. Am not sure if this is a game bug, or a GoG bug. lol

You can't do anything with them until they have finished growing. I think you'll need to right-click on them and they will turn into a material of some kind.
I have 2 problems.

1) All my gog games seem to overscan ( I use an HD tv) and I pretty much find various work arounds. So far none for this as I can't run windowed mode or mess with other settings.

2) In the bottom left corner, the arrows button panel where you get your messages, if my pointer hovers over it I get a rapid buzz and the mouse gets sticky. Eventually the computer will hard lock. Very similar to an issue I was experiencing with The Guild... But I applied what I did there and no luck. So at this time it's not plyable for me.

korhian: I got something similiar. Game seemed fine until I got to level 4, and as soon as the brig gets built, it starts stuttering like crazy.Change the video settings to software mode, not hardware. That fixed it for me.

That sounds like the problem I am having. Haven't been able to pin it to something specific, but always when building a room. I'll try software mode, but it would be nice if there was a less 'radical' solution.
It's not a huge deal with this game, I switched it to software, can't even tell the difference in graphic quality.
I was having trouble with sound distortion when moving mouse pointer to lower left or right corner of screen.

I fixed this by reinstalling game to c:\Startopia running instasll as admin (windows 7 64) which I did the first time, but this time changed directory. I also ran the game straight off install. I did not change any of the options excepts for vsync to blit. Left everything as is, and the game runs now. So be careful taking things off auto in options or doing too much customizing (which is probably the cause of my problem the first time).

There has been no need to mess with any compatability settings.

I can't play startopia, when I try to create a multiplayer game or after I start a singleplayer game my display driver simply stops responding (“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered”). Sometimes it even gives a blue screen saying something about the Display, it only happens with this game. The rest works fine. (My video card is NVIDIA Geforce G102M.) (I use windows 7 64 bits)

Works perfectly on my windows xp netbook

Sorry, I forgot to tell how it went. Switching over to software mode did indeed stop the game from crashing.
Many thanks, Distaria:D

I did... Still didn't work...
The only other thing I can think of, which someone else suggested earlier is to set the Vsync option to Blit.
I have a freezing problem. It didnt start till Mission 4. The game freezes. I can still hear sound and move the mouse but it just creates mutiple images of the mouse when I move it. Like an image trail. Reminds me of old windows graphic crashes. I noticed it happens more frequent if Im going through the messages real fast.
EDIT: I switched from Direct3d and so far no freezing.
