So I installed Starflight 1 through GOG Galaxy and tried to play it. Got a DOS prompt asking me which program I wanted to run and typed '1' for Starflight. Then it had me select graphics settings and I selected the RGB option. Then the screen turned into a garbled mess of pixels in the upper half and total darkness in the lower half. Pressing 'enter' made the pixels move sometimes, but I couldn't do anything else. I had to get back to the desktop by hitting ctrl-alt-del.

Is there some DOSBox configuration I have to go through? What gives?

OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Processor: AMD Ryzen 2600 6-core
Ram: 16GB
Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Monitor: 1920x1080

Great. Now I get working graphics and sound but the game closed after the piracy warning. I know trying to run DOS games on modern systems can be tricky sometimes, but this is a little nuts.

How far is that into the game ? Did you make it to that screenshot I posted ?

Nope. Like I said, it closed right after the piracy warning. Didn't get to the actual game part at all.

try pressing option 2 in the first menu (the green one)
Okay! That actually worked! Wonder if I have to do that every time.

Well, now it exits the game after I save, which wasn't quite my intention and isn't what the menu said. Not really sure if it's supposed to do that.

nah you only need to do that if it doesn't work. I think you will lose your progress (savegames) if you do that.
Got it. And thanks!
