<span class="podkreslenie"><span class="bold">===== X-WING ALLIANCE UPGRADE PROJECT =====</span></span>

XWAU Craft Pack : Aims to replace all the models/OPTs of XWA, including the fighters, capital ships, stations, cockpits and smaller objects. There's some really amazing stuff in there.
DTM's Super Backdrops: Replaces the original low-resolution background images of XWA with fresh high-res ones.
You find all of these packs and installers for single ships over here:

<span class="podkreslenie"><span class="bold"> =====DARKSABER'S X-WING STATION =====:</span></span>

Darksaber's Ultimate Craft Pack [not compatible]: Contains lots of new craft for XWA, which are mostly known from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Requires the original XWA discs for installation, so the pack is not compatible with the GOG release right now.
TIE Fighter Total Conversion [not compatible]
Converts XWA to TI-Fighter (Battles 1-7). Requires the discs of XWA and TIE-Fighter, depending of the configuration you also need the XvT (Balance of Power) disc.

===== OTHER STUFF =====

AlliED: An editor, which allows you to design you own missions and even full campaigns.
XWA Hacker: Used to apply several fixes for XWA, including widescreen support. Please read its readme file and use XWA Hacker at your own risk. XWA Hacker has to be used in order to unlock and change the ingame resolution (it's locked at 800x600, use the noforce800mode.bat and changeres.bat).
Direct3D 11 via DDraw.dll: Allows you enable/disable antialiasing and anisotropic filtering (enabled by default). An outdated version comes with the old GOG release, it's recommended to get the latest version from the link in case you haven't grabbed the new installer yet.
Fansite by Jefe Picaro: Has a quite big collection of OPTs and missions for XWA (and the rest of the series).

Thanks ShadowOwl. Can someone confirm this works properly on the new GOG release of XWA?
Again, I haven't had an opportunity to test this, but you can download my New Jedi Order Project modded mission pack here: njoproject dot swcity dot net.

It includes:
5 Missions
19 Skirmish Missions
5 Cutscenes
Full Voice Cast
Voiced Briefings
New Music & E-mail

The site also includes links to several other campaigns for X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. If you get any 404's on file downloads, you will have to change the domain from njoproject dot com to njoproject dot swcity dot net in your browser.

Quick update: All craft packs can't be installed without the original XWA discs right now but Darksaber has stated that he is going to update the installers.

Another update:
Direct3D 11 via DDraw.dll: An outdated version comes with the GOG release, it's recommened to get the latest version from the link. Fixes the oversized models during the briefings. Allows you enable/disable antialiasing and anisotropic filtering (enabled by default). XWA Hacker has to be used in order to change the ingame resolution (is locked at the default resolution of 800 x 600).
Thanks ShasowOwl! I tried setting the resolution to 1600x1200 using the XWA Hacker but it doesn't seem to work. It asks me which resolution to pick, I choose option 3 (1600x1200) and hit Enter. Then it asks what horizontal and vertical resolutions I want so I set (doesn't it already covered by setting the resolution??) and I set 1600 and 1200 respectively. After I copy over the processed XWINGALLIANCE.EXE back to the game and overwrite the original the game is still on 800 resolutin.

Could you please advise?

If you are using the new renderer (which is the case by default) you have to change the default resolution of 800x600 to something else.

1. Throw all the XWA hacker files into the XWA main folder.
2. Launch "changeres.bat".
3. Select the default resolution of 800 x 600 by pressing "1", then "Enter".
4. Enter your horizontal and vertical resolution data, always confirm with "Enter".
5. You should now see something like this:

Detected file as X-Wing Alliance 2.02 with 25 matches (of 25)
Updated resolution 1 to map to 1366 x 768
6. Close the window, launch XWA, enjoy the game.
The ingame resolution option will still show you 800x600 but that is simply a hardcoded graphic.

Thanks again, I followed your instructions to the letter but I guess I'm missing something out. Please see the image below, does the process I followed seem correct? Of course, all the xwahacker-2.3 files are in the XWA directory.

Edit: I manged :) it's worth mentioning that the resolution setting will affect only the in-flight 3D world, and not the menus and space-station stages.
Thanks a lot!

Destex: Edit: I manged :) but only when using the resolution parameters that you used in your example (1366 x 768). I suppose XWA will not support 1920x1080?
1920 x 1080 should be working.
Ah! I thought I'll manage to edit my message before you see it. Yes, it works! Thanks a lot man, most appreciated.
I'll keep my eyes open for when the mods come through -- they really add a lot to the game. Cheers to Darksaber for sticking with for all these years!
This site includes many ships and missions for XvT and XWA:
http://xvtedicion.es/ingles/index.htm
Updated the thread, removed the bit about the new renderer causing the resolution lock.
XWAU Craft Pack is compatible with my GOG version... I installed it yesterday :)

This mod changes completly all models and improves the details of ships and space stations, awesome! almost a new game.
Updated the thread yet again. :)
