just downloaded 1993 version, and it's got the copy protection feature where you have to enter a code from the manual. I don't see a file that came with the game that's the manual....any help?
On GOG, the manual is usually among the extra goodies. You have to download it separately. Normally, it should appear on your X-Wing gamepage.

The manual isn't included for the 1993 version, only for the 1998 version (the 1998 manual does not have these codes).

Yikes! This is a problem. Hopefully, the original manual can be posted along with the goodies...

Please say it ain't true? :D Let's head on over to the Indy 4 forums and ask them the same thing (you needed to enter the correct code for the combination of the three stones found in the manual at the launch of the game)..

Since "Fate of Atlantis" is the CD version, it doesn't have its copy protection anymore ;)
FYI. This may be useful to people who were looking to put this on a dosbox app in android. Ive found that running the install.exe file helps to solve the "no music" problem.

And more in direct response to this post: when entering the dosbox commands i also found that the "xwing.exe" file has the old school copy protection. I entered "xwing.com" instead and it didnt give me that problem. If you really do want to figure out the copy protection and enter the katarn translations, i attached the image for your convenience. It plays great using magic dosbox by the way, as does tie fighter.

I think you are supposed to just enter "xwing". That will automatically prefer the .com. Punishment for the non-lazy I guess :D
