I downloaded, installed, redownloaded, and reinstalled GOG.com's KotOR (total of twice) and it keeps stopping at about 10% and it won't go any further. The ads for other games keeps scrolling but something is wrong. I have also had this problem with UnderRail.

What is the problem?

1) Disable your antivirus during the install, and
2) if that doesn't work, just leave the installation running for an obscene length of time - overnight, for instance.

Make sure your installation disk has plenty of TEMP space. The installer needs lots of temp space to unpack and do it's magic.

Also, as alcaray says, don't be impatient. Some GOG installers take insane lengths of time, as do some patch installers.
alcaray is right. More often than not, a hung installer is caused by your antivirus scanning the files as they unpack/copy, thus interrupting the process. You should pause or outright disable the antivirus for the duration of the install process.

That is what did it - I disabled the antivirus and both of them installed fully as normal as any other game I have.
