I downloaded both parts of the installer and began the installation process, but I got an error saying that the files were damaged, I did an integrity check and it told and it said Kotor2installer.bin or whatever it's called was damaged and I should download it again or something like that. any suggestions?

me neither tried dowloading it twice errpr saying instalation files missing so tried by downloading gog galaxy error again clicked repair ok great play button was lit up viewed lucas art screen then blacked out now play button is greyed out
i know this is only 2 pounds and i can walk away but if a million pouple this week download this thing that does not work somebody is making a lot of money

There is a big support button at the top of the gog.com homepage. Go there and search for your issue. It looks like it doesn't have your specific case, but find the next closest one and then there is a "contact us" link at the bottom of that page.

EDIT: I just installed it through Gog Galaxy, went fine (Windows 7), so it's probably something unique about your system

UPDATE:
I tried downloading the game with the gog downloader, I was able to install the game this time, but it crashes after the opening crawl. any suggestions.
