Drain Life was the first Jedi Power I picked but I've never been able to use it - it alway seems to be faded out when I go to select it. It always has the mesasge restriced by armour when I attempt to click on it but I just thought that would have a lesser effect - absolutely nothing is happening when I click on it. What am I missing?...

Restricted by armor, means it absolutely doesn't work at all while wearing any armor.

Switch to a Jedi Robe and check it.
