Tried over 20 times to get past this fight! I had it down to just me and him, my other party members were already killed but it seems impossible to go toe to toe with him? I then started running around laying mines and chucking my lightsabre at him and he was 1 hit away from dying but then I ran of of force power and he started replenishing his energy! Any tips to get past this? I'm playing a dark side playthough (although it's my first time playing KOTOR) and the jedi powers I have are advanced lightsabre through, drain life (first level) and the choke kill power... Is there something you can use that replenishes force power?

Really enjoying this game, I've already completed Tatooine and Korriban so Wookie land is my 3 planet after Dantooine. I've had few battles were I've had to try a few times to get past them but not like this one!!! Help!
Two words: Force Immunity.

This is the second bounty hunter/assasin that Darth Malaak sends after you?

I faced him with 3 different chars and never had a an issue:

With your char or assist from Jolee/Bastila, stun him somehow, Force Whirlwind is a favorite - Make him a Pinata.
Burst of Speed and chop him up with a Lightsaber.

Once he is up in the air, you should pretty much be able to kill him before the duration of Force Whirlwind expires.

Jolee's powers might be hardest to resist.

Yeah thats right - second guy he sends after me although it's a Dark Jedi this time rather than a bounty hunter.

I don't have Force Whirlwind or Burst of Speed although I know Bastila has Whirlwind so maybe I should switch to her and give that I try. Is burst of speed considered to be one of the more useful powers then? Thanks for the advice.

Edit: Oh who is Jolee? Haven't met her yet?

It's a neutral power. I think you have to be level 15(?) or above.

Oh who is Jolee? Haven't met her yet?
Him. A Jedi Consular found on Kashyyyk.

Damn it's not going to help me with this fight unless Bastilia has it. I'll be sure to get at the next opportunity though. Cheers for the steer!

I've never used force immunity at all, on any play through, so it is far from necessary.

Switch to Bastilla, and keep trying force whirlwind on him.
So I went back with the intention of using Bastilla and force whirlwind only to discover that she didn't have it. However, using Bastilla with Force Shield and Flurry I beat him first go and really easily! Can't believe it tool me so many attempts previously but then the combat in this game does seem to be a bit wierd like that doesn't it. I suppose sometimes it comes down to a bit luck with the 'rolls' and so forth...
Maybe Bastila already upgraded to the next item "Force Wave". Though Prefer to stay at Whirlwind for a it's longer duration.

It's not the best combat system, but it is far from the worse. There are many options to the same end goal which is a good thing.

You're spot on about the rolls. Especially when it comes to facing strong, lone opponents. You miss twice, the foe crits you twice, and the battle might seem just impossible. Reload, try again, this time he misses twice and you crit twice. Huge difference.

The rolls matter less in battles with multiple weaker foes and plenty of low potency blaster fire. It averages out. Either you're making it, or you're having trouble and you need to think of some strategy (use items, level up?), lucky rolls are not going to help much.

Oh, did you know that you can use an item from your inventory on *each* round of combat, while still attacking? I don't know if it's documented anywhere but it's ridiculous. If you use the shortcuts to eat medpacks, it'll take you an entire round to use it and you can't do anything else. If you instead just attack, and pause every round, you can eat a medpack from inventory while attacking!

Same goes for the boosters in fact. And if you're about to enter battle, you can often pause before the opponent turns red and combat rounds begin. At this time, you can use all the stimulants you want in your inventory, in one go. No need to spend combat rounds sticking needles into your veins.
