I really want to skip the detention level and I beleive you can do this by entering LASKIP. But how do I do this?
I have tried typing it while playing, during mission breifing, during config screen etc... all to no avail.

After 3 failed runs through this level I just want to skip it, before I go mad.

Cheers.
Edit: Whoops. Ignore the following instructions. As pointed out below, they're for Jedi Knight. I guess that I saw "Dark Forces I" and thought that it read "Dark Forces II."

Press the T key (for Talk) and then enter THEREISNOTRY. That's the command to skip to the next level. There's also PINOTNOIR # to skip to a specified level, though that doesn't work with the unofficial patch.

BTW, as an alternative to skipping the entire level, you could simply enter JEDIWANNABE 1 (I believe ON also works) to enable invincibility mode, either to play through the whole level like that or just get past the part that you're having trouble with.

That's a DFII code.

I can't get the old Dark Forces 1 codes to work either. Not sure if it's the glovepie and dosbox mappings interfering or something else.

On a default installation of the GOG version, typing the LASKIP code works for me (it must be entered during gameplay, unpaused). If your key-mappings are changed, you may need to take that into account. You'll have to determine which keys are mapped to which letters, and make sure you type them in the right order. Probably the best way to do this in-game is to create a new agent profile, and when you have to enter a name, see which key produces which letter.

Has anyone figured out how to get all the original cheats to work in DF1 yet?
I don't own the GOG version, so I have no idea if this works, but I came across a Dark Forces utility from 1995 in the Wayback Machine that supposedly lets you go to any mission in the game just as the cheat codes do. It may be worth a try for those that can't get the cheat codes to work. The file is df_sdi.zip on this page:

You should just be able to type it in when you're in the level. Don't worry about caps or anything, just type laskip when you're in a level. Gotta type it relatively fast too.

Edit: That goes for any of the codes-- they all work, just try typing them a bit faster.
