ChristopherRobin: Everything works perfectly for me. Thanks for making the thread!

The hud mod is a huge help.

Stalin.EXE: Can you pack your files from gaming folder (only patches and mods) and give me a link to it, please?
I don't know how to pack the files an I don't belong to any uploading sites.

Besides that, the links are in the first post of the thread. I downloaded them from there same as you can.

Just use 7zip or any free archive manager. :)

I know, but I've got a lot o problems with launching of playing with different patches and versions of ddraw. Just thought that your files, that work, may help me.
I have a couple of questions.

I tried the HUD mod and it says in the readme that it needs to be installed with a program called Patch Commander. I found that on JKHub, but it doesn't seem to detect my game installation. Adding the .gob file to the mods folder myself worked, but I'm hoping that won't cause issues?

Also about JKE and JKR, do they hurt the visual style of the game at all? I noticed they turned Kyle Katarn's hair black for one thing, and I'm always apprehensive about visual mods for old games like this.

Have you tried dgVoodoo2? That worked for me.

Yep tried it , btw it worked for you as in for fixing the "couldn't start correctly 0xc0000022 error" ????
I didn't get that error, but it did fix all my other problems.
Quick question, can I actually use this mod with my GOG installation or not? When I follow the link in Step 1, the instructions make it sound like I need the game from a different source to make this work.

I do have the GOG edition working with 3D acceleration in WIn10 (had to add dgVoodoo - can now launch directly through GOG client and get 3d acceleration without black game screen).

yup mod works fine.. just download, extract to the JK folder into a subfolder (The download I got extracted to JKE) .
you will need, most likely the original game exe and the ultimate patch15 to get mods to work, but that no big issue. simply patch that exe, place it in the jk folder (backup the original jk.exe)
then make a shortcut to the jk.exe (Right click, create short cut). then int he properties of the short cut at the end of the path, add -path xxxx where xxxx= whatever folder you put the mod, in my case it was -path jke
after you get the exe and patch it all the jk mods seem to work, from the better music files, the enhance models, the better textures (jkr)
Hey guys i just wanted to be sure but i am getting a virus alert form the files in the jk ultimate zip file, this is a false positive right?

Microsoft Defender identified it as Trojan: Win32/Rundas!plock, but i scanned it with Malware Bytes and it didn't find anything

Spartan338, that's a false positive, yes. That's a very new trojan, first appearing only a few months ago, while all of the files that one can download for JK (including the jkultimate package) are older than that, so they can't actually have the trojan in them. In fact, amusingly enough, one of my recent Defender scans thought that it found this very same 2016 trojan in a few files that date back to the year 2000.

Yes, you can use mods with the GOG version. You just need to replace the JK.exe with the one in the pre-patched JK Unofficial Patch. That's a lot easier than the earlier instructions to obtain an unpatched, retail version and then manually patch it. Here, the work is already done for you.

Then, the simplest way to install and enable the mods is to just put them in your game's Resource folder. That saves you the step of creating a subfolder and the step of modifying your shortcut with the path to that subfolder.

Note: If you lose the "CD" music after copying the unofficially patched JK.exe, then simply rename it to something else (like JediKnight.exe) OR delete the following key from the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Custom\JK.exe

Haha yeah it seems that Defender is a bit trigger happy with the virus accusations well thanks anyway!
When I use the Enhanced patch exe, the FMV cutscenes stutter. They'll play normally for a bit, then suddenly freeze for a bit before continuing. It doesn't happen with the normal game. Is there a fix for this? Does anyone else have this problem? I'd like to be able to get the enhanced graphics working but I can't stand the annoying stutter of the cutscenes.
After a hellish time of fixing millions of issues, I got the enhanced version working now with dgvoodoo.

I still got an issue, I think it's the same issue as the last post mentioned.

For some reason, the fmvs will just play with annoying sceen tearing with vsync turned off.

With vsync turned on I get the same bad stutters and freezes as gameragodzilla.

It doesn't happen with the vanilla gog vs. 2.0.0.6, though. I checked the watermark flag on dgvoodoo and realized that in vanilla version dgvoodoo is turned off while movies play and in menus.

So Dgvoodoo seems to be the culprit for the tearing in the pre-patched/enhanced version, there the watermark is always turned on, also in the cutscenes.

Is there a newer version of the unffocial patches around that has the same mechanism of turning dgvoodoo off when it's not needed as the vanilla gog version has? That would be a fine thing to have for anyone who wants to use mods and play enhanced, as that is not possible without the pre-patches exe & dll.
If you guys are using the "jkultimate" package and/or the "dgvoodoo 2.42 for JK" package, both from the first post of this thread, I recommend that you replace them with this unofficial patch and the latest dgVoodoo version.
