Welp. When they said MP for Battlefront 2 is back I expected it to work. This now is more like a train wreck. Right now I wish I hadn't purchased it becauce of the announcement. At least it was discounted.

Paczyk: Hey guys,

The update went live yesterday on the server-side and the freezing issue is now solved.

However the multiplayer in general, although very much playable, is not yet where we would like it to be.
We are now working on an update that would address that. It is still too early to give an ETA, unfortunately, but we are doing everything we can to have it ready and tested as soon as possible.

DaiconV: Hello, someone on the Steam community contacted GOG customer support and was told that there's no plan on fixing the servers. Is that confirmed or are there still plans on releasing a patch at some point?

Here's the link to the Steam thread

Hey guys,

To clarify. We are working on both - the update to reduce server lag and increase general multiplayer stability AND we are in contact with the community with regards to the dedicated servers.

I apologize for the misinformation caused by that support answer, there must have been an internal misunderstanding.

That's great to hear you guys are still going to improve the multiplayer.

I do have one question / suggestion. And that's to officially add the DLC maps, modes and heroes from the Xbox to the GOG / Steam versions.

I think it would be great as a way to "apologize" to the fans for the multiplayer issues. Just a thought you can pitch to Disney. ;)

People are thankful for the efforts you went to with Disney to revive this game, but it's disappointing that more testing wasn't done before announcing and officially updating the game (if possible, if not then sorry). This has entirely soured the experience and may even put people off buying it.

I bought this game on GOG a day after the announcement and haven't been able to actually play online since...

Hopefully you guys sort it out. Rebellions are built on hope. ;)

Another question: is it possible for you guys to actually patch current gameplay/technical issues with the game (outside of network ones)? There's community patches, etc that could be useful to be officially bundled in with the game.

The issue is not solved for me.
Putting a non-thoroughly-tested game on sale, announcing multiplayer is fixed, getting the cash from believers. Very clever, GOG.

Yep, one week and still a laggy mess. They should have had ATLEAST the dedicated servers working before launching it. I mean.. thats a no-brainer, because client hosted games were always laggy, but this now.. is just a Massaker of laggyness and no fun at all...

True, for a company that likes to play the ethical high-ground. They've dun goofed on this one.

If they don't fix it soon, people should start refunding to teach them to actually test before doing this shit.

I bought this probably the day it was updated or the day after, I have been able to play 1 multiplayer match (a deathmatch game) since then. All other times it fails to connect to the first server I attempt after about 1 min, then will not even attempt to connect to any other servers, or even refresh the list of servers till i exit the multiplayer mode and go back in to it... :(
Hey,
can we get any update? We get it that it takes a while to get it all fix, but could you atleast keep us updated? Lot of people are getting quite salty about it, so any sort of communication would be appreciated.

Nope, because GOG is one of the companies that didn't understand the 101 of Communication.
If there is no update and/or an ETA on a fix until Friday I'm going to ask them for a refund, because their claim the MP is working again is untrue - or at worst a lie.

I usually side with GOG, but I agree. It's getting ridiculous.
So, is GOG going to do anything or was this all just one huge scam?
Of course I already know the answer.

There are always the old ways. You just run the risk of it being malware or something.

P.S. I already own the steam version and made this acount after reading that it can help connectivity.
