Want to buy like hell, are these the (official) patched versions?

More so, has anyone installed the 'Complete' mods yet in order to be sure that they are compatible with the gog versions?

Thanx a lot.

EDIT: Seems that the V-sync issues have been fixed on the gog version, congratulations gog!

Just DL'ed Shadow of Chernobyl and installed it. It's version 1.0006, if you need 1.0004 it's on gamersgate but with Securom.
Registry key for installsource is just "GOG" and there's no cd key. patchid is 0x0000054d (1357) both bonus packs = 1
I'm now downloading complete to see if it works.

Edit: you can probably downgrade this to 1.0004 same as steam version.

Edit: Complete installs fine. New game starts ok on Full Dynamic Lighting.

Ah yes - forgot there was that trick.

As to the GG version, I got it just before chrsitmas and it was actually just v1.0001 and I had to figure out which patches to use (US retail in my case) and update from there. Good though as it left me free to mod as I pleased.

Yeah i forgot if it was 1.0 or 1.0001 so I just said 1.0004. If you change the Installsource registry key it lets you install US 1.0004 patch, making the gamersgate version of Shadow of Chernobyl effectively drm free. It's Call of Pripyat doesn't have that trick, so definitely pick it up from GOG.com, plus all mods for CoP work with the latest official version as far as i know.

edit: although i've only installed Arsenal Overhaul, Complete, and MISERY 2.0 for CoP, and misery 2.0 crashed for me. Arsenal Overhaul basically turns CoP into a Ukraine-themed gun collecting simulator, and it works with DX11 only.

jabotinsky1948:
Barely bothered to mod CoP myself so far - though I am tempted to give Misery a go at somepoint - I'm really just awaiting Lost Alpha for my next mod fix (even though its essentially a new game on a new version of the xray engine).

Why would you need 1.0004 when you have 1.0006?

elventrelis: Why would you need 1.0004 when you have 1.0006?
Because 1.0006 was basically an update to the (dead) multiplayer from 1.0005

Many people found 1.0004 to be the most stable version - and a lot of the mods require it, some others 1.0005. To make the best of the game you'll need to mod it (cut out content, basic graphic and stability improvements etc).
In case anyone missed the edit,

Shadow of Chernobyl Complete installs fine and starts a new game ok with full dynamic lighting. Like Sachys said, some mods need 1.0004.

Personaly, i have not a Problem with 1.0006.

I use the Patchversion with Autumn Aurora 2 and had after 30+ Hours so far absolutely no crashes, bugs or something like that.
