Hi dear Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest fans.

The game has been recently updated on Steam, on the 12th of June, but the update has not reached the GOG.com build yet. This disables cross-play multiplayer functionality, the patching of critical bugs and the addition of missing/overlooked content.
Here is undeniable proof, that the developers, Grimlore Studio, have updated their game on Steam, but chose to treat GOG.com owners as second class customers.
This display of preferential treatment, towards Steam subscribers, is neither appreciated and should not be tolerated. If you can, report this unbecoming behavior to their publisher, THQNordic, as well as inform the GOG.com team, which I already did.
It has already been five (5) days that the developers ignored us, the GOG.com owners, and show no intention of remedying their mishap.

Cheers.

I think they use Steam as the primary development and MP balancing plattform and GoG "only" get's the stable big updates/patches.
This looks more like a mistake than intentional as steam never had the 71177 patch. You should try to contact the developers directly and tell them that they goofed up

Hi Unreal_NeoX.

Unfortunately this is a case of preferential treatment. There is nothing to suggest that there is a "testing" period, much less that it needs to be Steam subscriber exclusive.
Updates for play-testing are never to be applied mandatorily on the live build, that everyone plays, and are always to be optional, so that only interested play-testers download them.
There is nothing to even remotely justify their lack of integrity, so please disengage from that course of conversation.
There is already proof that backs up the accusation of their shameless preferential treatment towards Steam subscribers, at least once, in this forum.
If the developers don't care about keeping their GOG.com release up-to-date and functional, than they should reconsider releasing it here.

Hi Sherwan273.

Steam had the build version 71177 since the 3rd-7th of June. Now it has the build version 71199, since the 11th of June, which is different from build version 71177, while no patch notes were publicly released for the latest update (a.k.a. "stealth update").
Even if Steam didn't have build version 71177, which it did have up to the 11th of June, GOG.com still doesn't have build version 71199, five (5) days after its release on Steam and is unexplainably behind of update schedule. The versions are different in content and not just in numbers, and on top of that, the descrepancy causes cross-play, multiplayer and co-op incompatibility, since the 11th of June.
The only "mistake" made, is that the developers intentionally skipped the update for the GOG.com build. This is a proven fact, so there is no reason to duel on it (it has been discussed in detail with the GOG.com team).
The purpose of my post was to warn the GOG.com community. Naturally, I have already done what was required, to notify both the perpetrators of this effrontery and the GOG.com team.
I am sure they will be held accountable soon enough, since this is not the first, not even the second time, they have pulled this stunt, at the expense of the GOG.com owners.

Cheers.

If you have multiplayer withdrawal issues, then the missing patch shouldn't be your priority.

Hi dear Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest fans.

The 19th of June update has re-enabled cross-play and the GOG.com build has been brought on par with the Steam one.
The update is currently available only through GOG Galaxy.

Cheers.
