I know I am a loser, but I find this game stil way too hard :(

I mean not in the standard way of too difficult but I would appeciate an easy mode to experience all levels. As I progressed through the game the game mechanic is mostly based on zero hits timing as more and more enemies are coming. I am too old to memorize all movements and opponents, but really would follow the story/environments, but I usually stick 2-3 days trying to solve a specific sequence (and I am only in highlands tower).

While I enjoy the game´s atmosphere and graphics and sound the frequently dying is really nagging my motivation,

I know I suck at games but usually I succeed at least in an easy mode. I also do not game much more than 45-90 min a day, so I think this game is just too difficult for an average audience as me.

It is a shame, but I usually agree that games should be (adjustable) more difficult, but I feel in Slain it is just difficult by packing more deadly enemies with more hitpoints in a level, which feels disappointing.

Any other same feeling?

I feel you. I love the style and the music but the game is just too hard to be enjoyable for me.

I get you, guys! I have little time to game as well... But love the fact that this thing tasks me so much! Plus it's been a real help to remedy my flawed memory.
The game is definitely too hard for the average user.

I played for about half an hour and then I gave up, especially since I found the keyboard controls too clunky to accommodate the super-fast timing which the game requires, and playing this game with the keyboard became very annoying & uncomfortable for me.

Maybe the game would be easier and more comfortable to play with a controller, but I'm not sure.

Nope. The difficulty is fine. Just try harder.
This isn't a game for people that get bored because they had to try 3 times to get over something...
In 90 minutes, you can advance quite a lot in the game.
I just got a controller and tried Slain again. I progressed a lot further this time and had my previous beliefs confirmed that this game is unplayable on keyboard & mouse.

But even with a controller, the OP is right. This game is way too punishing. Everyone complains about Dark Souls like it's the hardest game ever, but Slain is way worse than that in terms of difficulty.

Slain is definitely for hardcore gamers who have a controller for their PC and lightning-fast twitch reflexes only. Anyone else is not going to have a good time.

No. Volgarr the viking or Super Meatboy are hardcore games. Slain! while difficult, is far from hardcore.
