I was delighted to see this game available for Mac. I loved this game and the expansion when it came out.

Alas, when I played the game, I could not move my units using the keypad. The regular arrow keys worked but that leaves out diagonal movement. And using the mouse for unit movement is such a pain.

Anyone know how to enable keypad movement for Mac?

I second this question - I've installed KeyRemap4Macbook, to no avail, unless I'm not using it correctly (which is entirely possible).

My keypad works in windows, but I have to click 'numlock' after starting the game. So if the light is already on, I have to turn the light off to get it to work in game.

Odd, I'm using KeyRemap4Macbook and it works for me. I'm using a full-length Apple keyboard and the KR4M setting "Use Clear Key to toggle 'KeyPad as Arrow' (except virtual machine, RDC)" checked. I press the Clear key when the game starts, and the keypad works for directional control (including diagonals). Press Clear again when the game stops, and I'm back to using the keypad for numeric entry.

Is there any hope of an update or anything that would give functionality to the keypad on the Mac? This is awfully strange...

This seems to address the problem! Works on my computer under Mavericks 10.9.1 :-)

Alas I do not have a keypad as I am playing this on my laptop.

After playing the let down that is beyond earth I really wanted to go back to original AC.

You can still move units with the mouse. That's how I play.
