These games are all completely independent mysteries, correct? I'm assuming there's no need to play them in any specific order?

I've played all of them apart from Testament and as far as I can recall there are no connections between any of the games, so you can play them in any order you want.
I was about to ask the same thing :)

I'm playing them in as best order I can, I missed out on the Baker St Sale by a day sadly. I only have the first title so I will play that first and then when I am up to the second one buy that etc, hopefully there will be a sale by the time I get around to the next one.

They all look very good. Pity the first one (The Mummy) is not here. I also see some other PC ones are not here. Some in the series were 3DS only but we are still missing some inbetween PC releases.

There is a new one coming out in June I think so pretty soon but it is not listed on GoG. I'm worried with the new publisher they will not allow a DRM free version :(

At least we have these though.
As already stated in this thread, these are standalone games and you can play them in any order, although I would recommend to play them in order of release if possible, because sometimes you get some references for previous "cases" (a.k.a. games). For example, sometimes you will hear a comment or will meet a character from a previous game and talk about it, but that's it. After all, Watson always write about the "adventures" of Sherlock Holmes, so it's very common to find those references in newer games of the series.

Huh, I hadn't noticed that! Thanks for telling us!
Just to note

I was surprised to see that Sherlock Holmes and the mystery of the mummy is free in steam. It is a Myst/Cryo style of adventure. Very different from the later games. But I love the spin-o-rama kind of games.

The old Sherlock Holmes serrated scarpel and rose tatoo are not availale digitally but they are playable under Scummvm.

Greetings
