I didn't realize that the version in GOG is pretty old, and the first thing you must do before you play it, is to let the game auto-update.

I wish there was an updated executable available here.

Yes. Last night I checked the "update on start" option, reopened the game, and the auto-update fired. It all went fine.

Btw, the first time I run the game, windows asked me to give it permission to connect to the net, which I did. See if you're not blocking it in your firewall.

No luck for me, the game doesn't look like it even try to go online, I get no firewall warning (I disabled the firewall and that didn't work either).

I tried on a second PC and same thing.. both are running win 7 64. What is your system?

Yes I did.. it was at version 1.000 before patch, then its 1.004, but it does not go further.

Ok so turns out to update the game you have to start a new game, in that new menu you have an icon there that allows you to launch the update.. since it was not in the main menu I never saw it.. So its just me being dumb! (although its not the best place to show the update if your like me just trying to patch up the game and not play it..)
