after having a long and hard time to launch the game because of the Fatal Panic Error, now that i do play it (without cut scenes) my pc at some random point before the first dialogues end and i can start controlling the character just restarts
i have no idea why

Not sure what it could be, but if you haven't done so already you may want to contact gog support.

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the game? I own an Nvidia card so I am not sure if your card settings could be causing an issue.
If all else fails try to contact GOG Game Support, and give them all the details along with a Microsoft DX Diagnostic report.
Disclaimer: If you are unsure what to do below, find someone more comfortable with the process and who knows what to do.
For Windows XP; go to Start, Run, (type in) dxdiag, OK button, wait for task to be completed and choose Save All Information... at the bottom of the screen.
Send this file to support as it may help them know what is going on.
That doesn't sound good.
Anyway, for troubleshooting purposes you can look into the option on Windows that keeps the PC from (auto) rebooting each time it encounters a problem.
The option is in System Properties > Start and Recovery > Settings
