I just bought septerra core off GoG to replace my old disc copy since when I was replaying it I noticed that awful dialogue skipping bug, well I was about 4 hours into the game when I decided to rebuy it. My question is this, how do I move my save files to the newly installed GoG folder septerra core or can I even do this at all? I would hate to have to start over again. I can't seem to find where my saved games are on the one I was playing, they aren't in the savedata folder.

I don't have the disk-based game, but in the GOG version (and I assume all versions since GOG doesn't really alter the games like that), there is a "savedata" directory in the game's install directory with <something>.scg files in it. Those are your save files and you should just need to copy those over to the new install.

cogadh is probably correct with the savegame location, but sometimes if you're running on Windows 7 and you've installed the game to the Program Files directory, Windows will actually re-route the savegames to a "virtual store" location. If you can't find them in the savedata directory, try looking in the virtual store. Check out this thread:

Of course, since you were running the disc version the path won't be quite the same (it won't have a GOG.com folder) but if should be similar.
