Dialogues sometimes skip . Found a solution for WinXP (turn off hardware sound acceleration), but that's not much help for Vista. Any suggestions?

This question / problem has been solved by Firekimage
I've sent a ticket, but I didn't get an answer so far.
Is there anyone using vista who doesn't have this error?

Shuva: Seems like a widespread problem. We probably should send reports to support. As this is a story driven game, not some FPS, this issue is very annoying.

chautemoc: Have you heard anything?

Just bought the game, will test it tomorrow and edit this post to let you know what results I get.
EDIT: Yeah, it skips for me too. Vista SP 1, 2gb ram, vanilla video and sound (Dell Inspiron 1501)

would greatly appreciate an update from support on thisone, same problem here running Vista. It's exactly the same, short dialogs which skips every time.

Since this does seem to be a widespread issue for Vista, I highly recommend that everyone contact support on this, instead of just posting in the forums.

One email seems plenty..

The amount of contact the support department gets will likely determine whether the solution they work towards is just a workaround or kludge, or whether they decide they need to go back and make some changes to the actual software package to address a widespread issue. So if this is indeed a widespread issue then the number of people support hears from really needs to reflect that.

Speaking as a former tech support manager, one person reporting an issue is unique, two is a coincidence, three or more and its a serious issue; time to focus some major resources on it.

Fair enough. Just figured they'd get annoyed with a bunch of emails, considering I've always gotten a response for each issue.
Any official word regarding te issue?
It'd be nice to see a confirmation that the matter is being looked into.

Seconded.
Umm... thirded? I sent them an email a few days ago. So far no response... :/
I don't think we will get a response. GoG posted a game that had an error in it that many people love. Instead of working a patch around it, they just put it out there with no warning to get money. Good job. You got money, now you got a lot of people frustrated too. Good business that is.
That's a bit unfair. Out of 100 games GOG sells, one of them has a bug that isn't even a game breaker and suddenly they are an evil, greedy company that is just in it for your money, quality be damned? If the (albeit short) history of this service is any indication, they will eventually correct it, if it is at all possible. The last time they released a game that had an unexpected bug, it took them almost two weeks to produce a solution, but in the end they had one. There is no reason to expect any different this time.
