Works just fine for me on Win 7 64bit.
Same, I never had any problems.

Have you tried running as admin or in compatibility mode?

I have the same question. The game is running for me, but I'm having trouble picking the correct compatibility mode, and apparently, so is windows.

If I pick Windows 95, it works, but the colors get all messed up, so it's distracting. At one point I was running it just fine, I don't know what i'm doing different now.
hmm, try running it in pure admin mode.If that doesnt work, swap between compatibility modes untill you find one that works. If you find that colours are messed up it's a direct draw thing. There are fixes for this. Just let me know how you progress and I will point you in the right direction =]
This look like a decent game but I wasn't sure how well it would run on Win7 64-bit as well. Are there just minor issues (I can live with) but is it a real PITA? Let's just say I don't care much for graphics but I'm a sucker for great performance and stability so if any of those two are severely limited I think I will skip it.
so it works on windows 7(64bit) with no slowdown etc? was thinking of getting it but if theres still problems shall give it a miss. thanks for any help.
I just played it on Windows 7 64 bit. Worked well. There was a weird 2 second lasting low frames per second during a cutscene, but other than that, I've seen no problems.

I installed it to C:/Games/Sanitarium, so it's not in Program Files, and I'm running it as admin for kicks, if that makes any difference.
No problems for me too. Did a full playthrough without any issues.
Awesome guys! I'll get it then.
I'm quite new to GOG and Sanitarium was the first game if bought and download.

But i have some trouble to run the game in full screen. ( i have Win 7 64bit )
It runs in a small box shaped window while everything around it is black. It's annoying to play in such a small window.

is there any solution for this issue?
Check how your graphics card/monitor handle scaling non-native resolutions.
Works fine for me on Win7x64 with standard GOG installation (but to C:\Games, not the default location.

It's not widescreen, but you can't have everything...
At first I had a lot of problems running the game. As I usually do, I made a shortcut to the application (Start.exe) for Steam. Running it within Steam, however, lead to crashes after the first couple of FMVs. Then I tried changing the Windows 7 backwards compatibility settings. I got it to run by using the Win98 settings, but there I suddenly had problems with the colors in-game. At this point I tried running the game with D3DWindower (or whatever that's called). But some issues still remained and I was not really confortable with having to run this other utility.

Luckily, at this point and out of desperation I simply tried to run the program using the start menu. Turns out that the shortcut provided by the GoG installer runs the program flawlessly. The reason for that apparently lies in the actual instruction that this shortcut executes. Setting my Steam shortcut to the exact same command sequence did the trick. Now the game runs like a charm :)

Thx my friend!. I went in to the the control panel for my graphic card ( In my case Nvidia) and found an option for "Adjust desktop zise and position"

From there I found a tab called Scaling and an option for Full-screen mode.

Thx again. cheers.
