Hello there !
Finally, I took the leap and decided to join up on gog.com^^
And oh boy...there's a truckload of great old games that I used to love that I'm gonna get.
First, I plan to get Sanitarium, but after a little bit of research, I didn't find a real answer to that simple question : is the game compatible with widescreen mode now ?
I know it works on 7 but not sure about widrescreen.
Thanks a bunch for enlightening me !

I run it on Windows 7 x64 just fine. It will however not run in widescreen that I can tell. Its just a box with black bars on the left and right sides.
Ok mate, thank you. As long as it works well on 7, it's a must buy for me.
If you have a DVI cable setup, you can force games to scale in your graphics card's control panel. Works fine for Sanitarium. Looks nice. :)

I'm afraid that's an Nvidia only feature afaik

Nope. I use it on my ATI card all the time, including with Sanitarium.

The game was designed for 4:3 so the only way to make it widescreen would be scaling which (IMO) looks horrible.

nah. looks fine for me. I don't see any difference between having it stretched or with black bars...
not sure why would you say it looks horrible.
Because I don't like everything being the wrong shape? Circles become ovals, squares become oblongs. The world as we know it ends!
Anyway, in my opinion stretching looks horrible but if you're ok with it then good for you.

hehe. yeah. it is just an opinion.
are you running 1920x1080 or 16:10 resolution (like 1680:1050) because stretching would be more visible on 1080p.
The game would benefit from mod like PST has tough...
I'm not much of a modern PC gamer and as such, my home computer still has a 4:3 CRT, I think the max resolution is 1280x960. However my laptop (which I do more of my gaming on nowadays) is 1366x768. That's a pretty odd number of horizontal pixels but it's basically 1024x768 with extra horizontal pixels to make it 16:9. Luckily it has the option to scale while maintaining aspect ratio so it scales the 640x480 up to 1024x768 instead of the full 1366x768 which would drive me mad. An interesting thing I found recently was with Another World 15th Anniversary Edition which was 320x200 originally, making it 16:10. To get that at full resolution on my laptop I'd have to make it display at 1229x768, 1229 not being an allowable resolution. I had to settle for 1152x720 in the end...
What's PST?

eyeball226: What's PST?

planescape torment
Ah yes. I imagine the same would be possible with this, but it would take a lot more time and effort than anyone is prepared to put in.
