I have been trying to get this game to work on my laptop. It's new so it's defaulted to Window 10 OS. This game crashes constantly; doesn't even make it to the menu before crashing.

I know some folks have successfully got it to work on 10 and I'd like an explanation as to how. I havent found anything yet that seems to work.

The specs on my computer are:

- 16GB (2x8G) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory
- 512GB PCIe SSD (Boot) + 1TB 7200RPM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5
- Killer 1535 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi
- Killer Wireless 1535 Driver
- Intel(R) i7-6700H GT
- Intel Core i7 Label
- 15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080)

Any advice?
I think you need Nvidia Inspector and edit Sacrifice profile there. You can look for such fix in Aztecas post aka "eltiernit0" here on gog and also on steam forums. I am not sure where he has put the fix post. Probably it should be at both. I am not sure if I can use steam name on these forums, if can't then please moderator edit this post. I would give you link but I can't post any links for now :)

I've had issues with win 10 x64 as well, I solved it by activating directplay which was deactivated by default. Worth a try =)

How do you do that?

Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Left pane: Turn windows features on or off > Press the (+) next to legacy components > Checkmark DirectPlay (if it is not)
Sacrifice keeps instant crashing on win 10 64 bit, i am running out of ideas. No error. Cant event get to splash screen.
i have the old disc version and that did not work at all until i patched it, after which it worked mostly perfectly, apart from some graphical glitches.

What patch did you end up using?
He possibly could use the Vanilla version and there were just 3 patches to the game. They were named Patch 1, Patch 2, Patch 3. There is also unofficial Patch 3.1 and manual patch 1f(which are the same thing), but you don't need them. Sacrifice from GOG is coming with Patch 3 already installed. I suggest you to get dgVoodoo wrapper. It's very good thing for many old games, some games that worked for me on w7 on w10 are working worse or not working at all, but with dgvoodoo I am able to run them just fine.
It works for me in Windows 10 64-bit with dgVoodoo 2 wrapper.
I had the instra-crash on opening on windows 10. But I was able to resolve it by finding the exe C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Sacrifice and running it as administrator (Although that just got me to the point where starting a game would insta-crash)
