I never had Sacred Gold. Rather, I bought Sacred when it came out, and Underworld the same. Apparently Sacred Gold has something that the original and expansion didn't have separately, gold and blue and red coloured tiled in the shops. I understand the red ones are for different character classes and thus unavailable to me, but what about the gold and blue ones? Does gold equate to "better than what you have equipped" and blue "equal to or less than"?

I could be wrong but I think they used something similar to the Diablo 2 color scheme for objects where blue titles are "magic" items and yellow are "rare" items and the green ones are parts of "sets". Someone please correct me if this is wrong.

Here is some info on equipment. Wolfe's Lair is one of the better Sacred sites.
I played about half way thru before I found out that I could use other character classes Combat Arts items in my own equipment and get the same benefits. Too much Diablo I guess as I tossed them if they weren't for my character class. A game changer since you find many and can change them out if you find better (pick one you like cause you lose the rest)

You just tossed them? You didn't talk to the wizard guy and find out that you can convert other classes combat arts into your own? He will trade 3 other class combat arts (possibly some gold as well can't remember) for a random combat art of your class or 4 combat arts and you can choose which one for your class you want.

lol . . . I did indeed, felt foolish when I actually figured it out. It was a game changer for me. I made GOOD use of it on my second game . . . =)
Going to play it again just as SOON as i reduce my game back log.. . ^_^

Red background - you understood right, they're for other character classes.
Gold background - you don't have enough gold to buy the item.
Blue background - you can buy the item.

Thanks. That's the answer I was looking for.
I was asking about the coloured TILES, that's one "T", as in the squares the items are framed in within the shops, but not within my inventory. I'm familiar with the colour scheme for the TITLES of items.
